You'll Never Believe

 Look right, look left, look up, check the time. 17 Seconds have gone by! How fantastic! She clicks the refresh button and reloads her email for the fourth time that minute, but there it is. What she's been waiting for. You'll understand in a few days.

ABOUT THE LOOK: Isn't it supposed to be fall? Cooler weather is supposed to be coming, right? Because when I put on these fancy leggings, I didn't know I was going to sweat myself out of them. Anyway, today I went for a slightly more sophisticated style than I have been doing. Everything is from Rue21 except for the boots. I noticed a lot of cat print and inspiration on the runway this season, so I decided these cheetah print, baroque leggings would be a fine choice for such a day. Sorry to rant on and on, but I have some fantastic news that I'll tell you in a day or so! (Hint Hint, it has to do with the amazing organization Glam4Good)

Touch The Sky

The temperature outside is scorching, so why wear real clothes? She decides that a vintage lace dress, a bandeau and hot pants are all she needs. And her hair. It's always so long, so tangled, so hot. It's been time for a change, but the sense of security that comes with long hair is hard to let go of; She fakes it instead. The breeze races throughout the corn rows and rustles the fake faux hawk on her head. How peaceful.

ABOUT THE LOOK: I went to Arizona on a mission trip and we traveled to this spectacular thrift shop. It sold me the dress and boots for two dollars each. Did you just faint? I know I did when I heard the price. Anyway, it's festival season and I thought some of you might like to wear something like this out to one of the burning hot festivals. P.S. all the jewelry I'm wearing is 100% Native American made. Most of it from Navajos. Love it!

Oz Fashion: Wicked Witch

The last witch we will discuss is none other than the Wicked Witch herself! I won't tell you who plays her in case you haven't seen the movie already (it surprised me), but prepare for some good battling between this witch and the great and powerful wizard himself.

We all have to admit, the Wicked Witch got a stunning upgrade from the original Wizard of Oz. Her skin, although still green, does not resemble that of a color on a child's bedroom wall, oh no, it's much more dark and sinister now. The hat is shiny and sleek and her outfit... oh my goodness her outfit!

Who said Witches who were bad and green need to be dressed in a dark rag of a dress, anyway? They were sorely mistaken because this evil being's outfit is skin tight, figure showing and all around a stunning masterpiece when it comes to clothing. The corset bodice is gorgeous and what I truly love is the stand-in feathers on her shoulders. They look like leather strips made to be feathers!

Oz Fashion: Theodora

On Saturday, I went to the movie theatre and watched Oz The Great and Powerful (The producer is actually from my hometown!). When I got there, my mouth nearly hit the floor in awe when I saw how much they had revamped all of the witches wardrobes. With a new found pump of inspiration, I've decided to talk about the Witches' fashion in Oz.

Let's begin with Theodora, played by the ever-talented Mila Kunis, who is the innocent witch in Oz. The first outfit we witness her wearing is a beautiful velvet-leather combination, filled with rich colors and an over sized hat. Her  coat/hat is near the color Samba, one of Pantone's (color trend predictor) top new colors for fall 2013.

In each of her costumes, we see her wearing white, red and hits of black which, having studied colors and their meaning for fun, each hold a certain significance. White is symbolic for innocence and purity, the exact opposite of black, the opposing color she also favors throughout the movie. Black, of course, means darkness, evil, and usually is worn on a person full of rage and/or mourning. Of course, Theodora's father had been murdered so it seems fitting. Last is the color red. Red is constantly associated with energy, power, love and passion. It also represents fire, a power viewers see her posses early in the movie.

I have become obsessed with the use of these three colors together and the outfits they are put on. Theodora's costumes are a sneak peak of fall fashion (trends, colors, coats, ect...). What do you think of Theodora's outfits?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Wow, another year has gone by and I actually feel as though I've accomplished something with my life this year. It's a new feeling and I like it so I'm going to make sure it continues into 2013!

That's me in the picture above (obviously), it's a little blurry because I took it indoors with my tablet, but you can kind of see what I wore for NYE... but don't think I did anything too exciting. My NYE didn't consist of glamorous parties or anything, no... what it did consist of, however, is Katy's BBQ with my parents and sister, going to my cousins house for about an hour before Les Miserables started, but then going home because of the snow. After that, I just sat at home stuffing my face with cheese dip and RC. Fun right?

Anyway, before I set this to post right at 12 O'clock, I have a couple things to say:

First, if you look at the instagram pic, you can kind of see my new ear piercing! Cartilage:) 

Second, here are my two resolutions I decided on for good old 2013:

1. LEARN FRENCH-- I'm going to self teach myself French! 

2. COMMIT TO CAGED IN CLOTHES-- No less than 3 posts a week I do declare!

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long, I've had a lot of college stuff to catch up on! I'm on here now though, well, only for a few moments, but I'm going to show you a few amazing pieces from an on line eboutique... mine! I mean look at it! It's pretty much an obsticle illusion with sleeves and hems. The one below it, so meshy! I know it'd look good with a cute jacket as fall sets in, don't you?
