Grandma's Romper

My sister and I are thinking of starting a blog together. It'd be a chain off of this one and be called Caged In Makeup. We are intense makeup junkies, I mean, you name it we got it. I have hot pink, sparkly eyeliner and yellow, shiny mascara and a poop ton more and my sister... well... let's just say she robbed a clown a few years ago, added neon powder and a pound of glitter to whatever she stole and stuck it on her face and somehow still managed to make it look good. We have a passion for makeup like I personally have a passion for fashion and we would love to share it with you! So, be on the look out for the announcement of the blog!

ABOUT THE LOOK: Don't laugh, the romper is my Grandmother's from way back when. It is really big on me so check and see if you can tell where I tied it:P Anyway, back to the look. Every time I come to do a shoot at this playground, I feel like it's suppose to be fun and like I need to let out my inner child! More like I want to than need to. So, to do that, I mixed fun colors, with bright accessories and, but of course, SUGAR! Such simple props such as a lollipop and sour octopus really complete an outfit and a shoot.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Yes, my grandmother's romper was smidgen large on me so I had to use ponytails I had to make it fit... it happens. It was such a fun shoot though, besides the fact I got a little sick from the spinning... and the candy indulgence. It was a fun shoot though; Andrea always makes me laugh somehow and vice versa. The swingset in the background, I tried to climb up on top of it, but it most definately did not work. It just come out with some extremely unnatractive shots.

Social Butterfly House

OK guys and gals! Here I am, browsing Chictopia, when I see a picture of this girl wearing this gorgeous backless shirt! I immediately vote it up and go to comment on it when, what do you know?! Turns out it was a clothing company! I casually move my mouse over to their store's link, click upon it.... then die. Why? Because their clothing was beyond beautiful; it was stunning, it was dazzling, it was pulchritudinous, and yes that's an actual word. A spectacular word for a spectacular brand.

The Brands name is The Social Butterfly House. It seems as though their specialty, their signature is unique, backless clothing. Just look at the picture about. A backless shirt with scalloped hem? I've never seen such a thing, but I sure do want to own one! They also have gorgeous dresses that just so happen to be lacking fabric in the back, but they also have an array of tops and rompers. Here are some of their products:

'Bella' Open Heart Back Dress (Black)

Crochet Tulle Dress

Lattice Back Dress

MBD Basics 'Julian' Top

Suede Scallop Shorts w/ Cutouts

'Full Bloom' Floral Bandeau

Sleeveless Twisted Peep Sheer Blouse

Like I said before, Tell me which of the three above you like the most... There's a suprise in for all of you!:)

Belated Birthday Post

I'm baaaaaaaaack! Wow! It's been so long since I've last logged on! Well, I've logged on quite a bit but haven't posted anything in a while. I had severe conjunctivitis (fancy word for pink eye) and wasn't really in the mood to have my picture taken, they wouldn't have been pretty anyway, my eyes were so red:( Speaking of red... I cut my hair and dyed it red! Just one of the changes you will be seeing around here along with a behind the scenes section at the bottom of the page. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Anyway, my birthday was last week and I finally turned 18! I'm an adult now; I can buy cigarettes, get a tattoo and purchase lotto tickets, although I probably won't do any of those. I'll vote though! My best friends Heather and Mason got me these gorgeous Jeffrey Campbell Nightwalker shoes. They are surprisingly easy to walk in and the expressions on people's faces when I walked by in them was priceless! I have to admit though... I tripped. I tripped right in front of a couple of cars who had stopped at a stop sign and, little did I know, I tripped in front of a big group of people who had just gotten off a train behind me. Good thing I don't get embarrassed easily. My other best friend and amazing photographer, Andrea took these shots for me. I can always count on her for anything, especially giving you all more shots to gaze upon!

ABOUT THE LOOK: This outfit is all about the legs. The triple-button, high top pants and six-inch-heel (minus an actual heel) shoes made my legs appear to go on for miles (and let me tell you, the amount of catcalls we got on the shoot proved that people noticed!). The colors on the saddle oxford part of the shoe coordinated with the shorts and the shirts colors clashed with the bottom of the shoes, which I actually enjoyed! But, back to my legs... I tucked the shirt into the front and left it hanging in the back which also gave the look of extremely long legs so if your looking for extending your legs without painful surgery or such, try multi-buttoned shorts, a half-tucked shirt and sky high heels... with actual heels if you prefer;)

BEHIND THE SCENES: It was so incredibly hot out when we were taking these pictures. I kept sweating and we would have to stop to blot my face off! And, as you can tell, I wore flip flops most of the time. I didn't feel like strutting around in my new beautiful shoes for an hour or two, but I carried them and was careful not to put a single scratch on them!

ENDING QUESTION: What should I wear with these shoes next? Leave comments, links to pictures and if your comment is the one I pick, you could see it come to life in one of my next posts! And but of course I'll have to do a shout out to you!
