The temperature outside is scorching, so why wear real clothes? She decides that a vintage lace dress, a bandeau and hot pants are all she needs. And her hair. It's always so long, so tangled, so hot. It's been time for a change, but the sense of security that comes with long hair is hard to let go of; She fakes it instead. The breeze races throughout the corn rows and rustles the fake faux hawk on her head. How peaceful.
ABOUT THE LOOK: I went to Arizona on a mission trip and we traveled to this spectacular thrift shop. It sold me the dress and boots for two dollars each. Did you just faint? I know I did when I heard the price. Anyway, it's festival season and I thought some of you might like to wear something like this out to one of the burning hot festivals. P.S. all the jewelry I'm wearing is 100% Native American made. Most of it from Navajos. Love it!

A Penny for Her Thoughts
Deep breath. Take it in. She can see the world without even opening her eyes. What's she thinking as she faces the wind and lets her imagination run wild through the field she's standing in? A penny for her thoughts? You can't pay a penny for her thoughts, they're much more valuable than that; they're at least a dollar.
ABOUT THE LOOK: Oh I love this skirt (Forever 21)! It's so diverse! Anyway, it's December in Missouri so I'm wearing a mesh skirt and a tucked in lace, peplum top (Plato's Closet) when I should be in the fluffiest coat I can find. This weather is insane. And I know what a few of you are thinking... A white shirt! In December! Uhm... yes. I feel like white looks its loveliest in December when the there's snow on the ground! ... Or a field of tall, dead grass.
BIG Thanks to my friend Mason for taking these pictures. That's his dog... it's name is Penny;P
Plus, like Caged In Clothes on FB because there's a big surprise coming up that will be announced on there!

Sneak Peek!
Want a sneak peek of my next post? Here it is!
(Sorry about the light/colors. My friend Mason is new to photographing and is still trying to figure out how to work the camera. He has to practice since he's going to be my photographer for St. Louis! [P.S. Mason, if you're reading this, I love you home dawg])

Cut and Dye
It was cold out. Not the kind of cold that freezes water, but the kind that makes your hair stand straight up on your spine. It was the breezes. It was that time of the year. It was fall. Finally.
Brown leaves and that cool breeze. Spiked necklace cold against her neck. She's at a soccer field in a small town but dreaming of traveling to a bigger city. She wants to see the world, see fashion, see new people. But all she can see right now is the warm, black leather jacket calling her name.
ABOUT THE LOOK: I cut my hair! And dyed it, as well as you can see. I'm not too happy with it, but it's exactly what I told my hair dresser to do (AKA my mom). When I first got it, I straightened it and I looked like Cher or the girl off the Adams Family. Bleh. I feel like I'll figure it out how to rock it though. So, about the look; I went for a toned-down rocker sort of look. I have tight pants on and snakeskin/suede heels, but paired it with this nice white sweater to give it a softer touch. Although the spiked necklace leans more towards the rocker side, it's still a pretty balanced outfit.
