Running With Green Horses

It's Spring! Yet, oddly enough, it feels like summer. I mean, an 85 degree day makes me feel like popsicles and tanning (more like burning) at the pool, not dew drops on crisp pieces of grass and birds chirping outside my door. I like it though. Summer means more family time, mission trips, cute swim suits (and the pool!), not to mention shorts and super fun fashion!
I got this pony here on a mission trip a few years ago, my first mission trip ever actually. It chills on my bed all day and snuggles with me at night and it doesn't have a name! Give me a name for him in the comments! I'll announce the winner in another post, and guess what the winner wins? How about their name in big letters at the top of the post?! Sound good? I think it does. Get to thinking of names!

Nasty Gal

Before you run from this post because of the name, let me clarify: Nasty Gal is an online boutique with some of the most distinctive wardrobe pieces, I bet even you, has ever laid eyes on. They got their name from an album that was called Nasty Gal. They used it as their inspiration for the entire boutique.

They have anything from velvet dresses to to lace skirts and cutout bodysuits. Everything about their clothing screams unique. Even their T-shirts have detailing on them that no other store would even think of! Think of walking into a room with skinny jeans and, what appears to be, a plain coral-colored t-shirt, but when you turn around, it has a scoop back starting halfway down the shirt!

Just a Short Announcement!

Hey everyone! Prom is tomorrow for me and I was nominated for Prom Queen! Whereas I don't think I'll win because I'm going up against an amazing ginger-headed gal, I'm still going to have a blast and can't wait for it. Be expecting plenty of prom pictures to come!

This picture came from a shoot I recently did with a friend (If you guessed Andrea, give yourself a pat on the back!) and expect pictures from that shoot as well! And please comment if you want to see the girl behind these amazing photographs, Andrea herself! Maybe if enough people say they want to meet her, she might be willing to take a couple of pictures with me. High fashion editorial shoot perhaps? I think so! So please comment:)

Popular Prints

What’s in this season? An outrageous amount of prints. Seen on runways all over the world, this craze has taken over the fashion industry in a fury so great, it’s hard to keep up. The mixture of animal prints, vintage prints (such as stripes and dots), florals, even the newly popular tribal print, can suddenly be seen on anything from dresses to shoes.

Together, separate, meshing or even clashing, these prints go from subtle to outrageously bold in the attempt to make the garment stand out. Small flowers strewn in softer pinks and purples can be seen in stores with intricate chunks of colors and patterns of shapes now know as tribal prints.

The diversity of this trend is simply unbelievable. From the sexy, cheetah print to the softer, romantic floral print, this trend works for almost any occasion possible. What is amazing about the present prints versus vintage, before-our-time prints, is that these typical stereotyped prints are now breaking free of their boundaries. The cheetah print does not now only have to be created just for it’s usual sexiness, but can now be almost as romantic as the pastel florals (still with it’s own hint of fierceness) that we see on the more shy women, thanks to the genius creations of many designers (Find a romantic cheetah print dress example here.)

And, not only is it diverse in styles, but also what it can be put on. Not only are prints made for just dresses, shirts and skirts anymore, but also shoes, hats, and even jewelry. Designers such as Zero Cornejo and Alexander McQueen have already created garments flaunting this popular trend, with many designers following closely in their footsteps.

This is a trend that is allowing women to break free of their jeans and comfy sweater and throw on a zebra print blouse tucked into their favorite shorts as Spring slowly emerges. The changing of season creates an entirely new palette of trends.

Imma Punk Too

I'm a goody two shoes. What can I say? I cry when I think someone is mad at me (Especially teachers), I try to do all my chores, I don't do bad things and I've never tasted alcohol, nor do I plan to. I'm nice to everyone, even if I don't like them and I do way to many extracurricular activities. But the amazing thing about clothes is that you can easily trick people to thinking otherwise. I might be nice on the inside, but if I dress up like this, all bad a**, do you think people will think I'm 100% goody goody? Probably (hopefully) not. So check out the post and tell me your personality and if you dress to match it, or dress to trick people in the comments:)
