Day 6

Best work space in the world, am I right? Here's just a peek of all the hard work that makes a GLAM4GOOD event possible. And I'm not saying that sarcastically just because of the wonderful items surrounding me in this picture. It really is hard work! It's constant research and phone calls and unpacking, then repacking, there's a lot that goes into it!

After a long days work, I had dinner, but then was craving some ice cream! The Great thing about NYC is that you can walk in any direction and get to an ice cream shop! Look at this little cup of cuteness right here!

Day 5

What a fun day! Busy and slightly nerve racking, but extremely fun nonetheless! I'm learning the very important Messenger system. Back in Missouri, the "messenger system" would be meeting the person halfway at a gas station. So different!

Anyway, check out the BEAUTIFUL Holst and Lee necklaces I worked with today! How GLAM4GOOD, huh?

Day 4

Day four. I got a spicy Italian sausage from a street vendor. That's it.

I went home and slept and watched clips of Jimmy Fallon because it was my chill day.

Day 3

So here's what went down today; I was supposed to start interning today, but hey, things happen, I understand. I never would have gotten to take a picture of these super heroes holding me up if I had started.
I went to another 9/11 Memorial. It was breathtaking and also sad at the same time. The names of those we lost encircle the whole outside of it.
I also went to Fifth Avenue. AH. MY. GAWD. I'm going to be a millionaire when I'm older because I walked into a couple stores and was like, "Well maybe I can afford this scarf *picks up scarf and sees price tag* you know I swear I saw an H&M down here somewhere."

But anyway, below are shots of Bergdorf Goodman's window displays. My fav? DEFINITELY THE ZAC POSEN.
This is the Zac Posen!
I saw and went into a few other stores. Notice the lack of bags in my hands.
I Vogued much harder than this puny Versace model.
Then I went shopping at the 4 story Forever 21 in Times Square.
Lastly I ate dinner at the BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP CO. This man here was our waiter, I took a selfie with him below.

Day 2

Day 2 was my day to be a true tourist, except that I dressed pretty cute to be one.
First thing first, walk the Brooklyn Bridge! It was so beautiful! It was also so... so... so... Long.
It did have a cute little quote on it though!
I'm in NYC, so of course I had to see the Statue of Liberty! There were to many people to actually go to the base and also way to many to go inside so we went on the Staten Island ferry to cross and see it. I geeked out because I was going to Danny's home Island. Oh #TheMindyProject
I saw the Staten Island 9/11 Memorial and it was so beautiful. There were individual face silhouettes carved onto the side with the names of the people.
Then the was good old Chinatown. We'll just say or was A LOT different than I though it would be.

Day 1

You know, I'm usually pretty good about going on planes according to the one other time I've been on one. However, today was not smooth sailing. I spent most of the trip trying not to revisit that banana I had for lunch. But I got to my room and found this...
I am convinced that Mary Alice Stephenson is not only a fashion goddess, but also a fashion genie. It's like she knew I wished for another flat bill snapback. How insane.
Mary Alice then decided we should grab coffee but then went on to show us Brooklyn! It. Was. BREATHTAKING. I mean, look at that view!

Day 0

Alrighty everyone, it's officially Day 0 as tomorrow will be my first day in NYC. I don't have a fancy camera to take pictures with since all my money is being put towards this internship, however I do have a smart phone.

I put my bags in my parents car and traveled back home so they could take me to a hotel tonight so we don't have to drove 4 hours in the morning. Why? Because that would be awful.

Suduko In the super long car ride to the hotel!
Finally here. time for a good nights rest before heading out to NYC tomorrow!

Day -1

Ok everyone, today was day -1 of my journey to NYC for my internship with a couple of companies I'm  crazy passionate about. First off, we have GLAM4GOOD! Remember that organization that let me help them out at Seventeen Mag? Yeah, that was them and now I'm absolutely honored that they're letting me come back down to help them out this summer! The other company is GAB+AB. I'll be tagging along with them this summer and helping them blow up the social mediasphere.

So why day -1? Well, because I don't exactly leave until Saturday. However, I wanted to start showing you all the process now. It begins with packing. Holy packing. I have two luggage bags, my carry on and my purse. I was sooooo surprised when my checked bags were under 50 pounds each. It was such a relief too!

In order to even out the weight in my bags, I used my shoes to stuff shirts in. Genius, yes, I know. It also helps hold the shape of my shoes so that they don't get squished on the ride. The tips of my shoes are also filled with my jewelry!
Final bags with the weight on top. Wow, it's taken all week to get to this point.

#GIRLBOSS

In honor of the newly released #GIRLBOSS, I've made a top 10 list of the women who are definitely the #GIRLBOSSES. So let's begin.

1. SOPHIA AMORUSO

Why is Sophia Amoruso a #GIRLBOSS? Do you even have to ask? She wrote the book, and I mean literally, Wrote. The. Book. This girl is the ultimate #GIRLBOSS because she set her goals and then showed her goals who's boss. Now she's the boss of a multi-million dollar business, Nasty Gal, and is inspiring girls everywhere to do what they want to do.

2. IGGY AZALEA

First things first, she's the realest. As a white girl from Australia, the rapping industry is hard to get a foot in, but Iggy Ig knows what's up. She moved to the US at 16 to pursue her dream as a rapper, even after being laughed at for her rhymes. Now, she's topping the charts every which way and being the ultimate #GIRLBOSS in this Murda Bizness.

3. MILEY CYRUS

Love her. Hate her. It doesn't matter, just admit she's a #GIRLBOSS. She was sick of having others control her life, her future, her everything. So what did she do? She showed everyone that hair doesn't make a girl and that Hannah Montana doesn't make her. She's an individual and now she's doing what she wants to do because she can. Get it Miley, just... GET IT.

4. JK ROWLING

This #GIRLBOSS took her life into her own hands and created a worldwide phenomenon while at it. Who knew a single mother living in near poverty could overcome all odds and take control. Now she has enough to live and give back to others. As a personal hero and role model for myself, Rowling shows that it's what's in your mind that can spark a revolution, not just raunchy dance moves (see above, still love you Miley!).

5. ANGELINA JOLIE

Being a #GIRLBOSS doesn't just mean having a lot of money and being famous (although Jolie doesn't fall short in either of those areas), it means being a role model, whether you want to or not. Who better as a role model than this humanitarian?

6. JENNIFER LAWERENCE

If anyone deserves to be a #GIRLBOSS, it's Jennifer Lawerence. She's a real woman. She doesn't need to be a size 2 or a perfect lady. She doesn't need to twirl her hair and giggle at guys jokes. She cusses and drinks and talks about all the food she eats and how she still wants more. Not to mention, she won the Hunger Games... or her character did... either way she had to eat a real raw fish. #BOSS

7. COCO CHANEL

Do I even have to explain why she's a #GIRLBOSS? She coined the term "Little Black Dress" and started a label who's name is recognized by nearly every person that walks this lovely earth of ours. I think that's all I'm going to say about her because just saying CHANEL is enough to explain her #GIRLBOSSness.

8. HILLARY CLINTON

Let's be honest here, the political world is a testosterone filled work place and only the toughest and keenest women can hold their own in there, and that's why Clinton definitely makes the list. She even replied to one reporter who asked which designer she was wearing by saying, "Would you ask a man that question?" Equality. She stays strong and inspires women everywhere. What a #GIRLBOSS.

9. BEYONCE

Her nickname is Queen B, of course she's a #GIRLBOSS! She constantly reminds women that it's us that rule the world and, yeah, men are cool and all, but we can definitely hold our own. Beyoncé is beautiful inside and out and she reminds us all that looks are nice, but they fade, but the knowledge we get now, we'll have forever.

10. LUPITA NYONG'O

Lastly we have this beauty! Everything about her screams #GIRLBOSS. Her first role in "12 Years a Slave" won her an Oscar. While gazing at her Oscar during her speech, she told everyone, "...may it remind me and every little child that no matter where you're from, your dreams are valid." Now she has a contract with Lancôme and an A class fashionista!
